One of our members got tired of cutting screws to the right length by hand, so they printed and built a handy jig for the Dremel to do it precisely.

Step 2 of getting the #basement sink back in working order is complete. I fixed the massive hole in the tub a while back, but then the faucet itself was leaky.
For some reason rather than being installed with typical supply lines, 1/2” threaded couplers were attached to the faucet valves and then soldered directly to the copper pipes feeding them.
I cut the pipes to add better shutoffs, and will add in threaded adapters to reconnect the new faucet. Had to #Dremel off a stubborn nut too.

Onrepareerbaar bellenblaaspistool blijkt repareerbaar.
Rondom helemaal verlijmd en openmaken lukt denk ik alleen met een notenkraker.
Lastig, want het afdekplaatje voor tandwieltjes binnenin zit geklikt en was losgeschoten.Maar door wat gaatjes te boren met een #dremel kon ik het weer vastdrukken zonder het hele ding open te hoeven breken. 🙀🫧🔫🥳

One other things I did for this #recordplayer #restoration that's just for aesthetics is getting all the rust and funk off of this crank handle arm. Started with steel wool and elbow grease, eventually a #Dremel and a wire brush attachment.

I have bought tons of stuff, sold as many donated and received gifts from people for many years.
But every now and then I come by people who are not very honest. Selling items at ridiculous price or use false text in title to gain visibility and clicks.
This cordless mini drill is sold for 25€ @ Lidl , this guy is asking 65€.
And added "Dremel" to the name to attract visitors. -

Last night I tried my hand at making a high-effort jack-o'-lantern. Got sprayed with a fine pumpkin mist from the #Dremel, but I'm pretty happy with the final result!

Yesterday’s #Dremel vs Stainless Steel experience: total time: close to 2 hours, also due to a need for a recharging and the time off(s) due to the device itself getting hot. 3 metal blades (or whatever they are called) got destroyed also the attachment piece warped a bit and I’m not much hopeful for the 4th one. A proper device would have likely done in in 5 seconds, but I don’t have access to such a thing, not that I’d need it again, either, but if the need arises, I’d use the Dremel again :)

I'm on the 4th blade with my #Dremel on this thing. Dremel is good for small stuff, but a heavy duty cutter would've done it in seconds already.
This is a 54mm bottomless #Portafilter and damn, that metal is strong.

Got my expensive toy. The person who sold it didn't even use it. It was brand new, I opened the bag with 5 different saw from original packaging.
Did a quick test run and it worked great. It's not for thick #wood, but perf for plywood and plexiglass which I'm planning to use.
Asked my wife to order large pack of 4 different saw to bring with her next week, because they are really expensive here in France (5 saw for €12 plus shipping compared to 12x4 for $25 and free shipping).

Those that have standard issue Dremel tools. Will one of the included tools allow me to cut thru the hard plastic that is the GoPro housing? The housing that comes with the BacPac doesn't have access to the USB port of the BacPac. If I could cut or drill or something away a bit of the back door it'd be good.

The apartment handyman came by to change a doorknob which was breaking, last week. When he tried to take it apart we discovered that the guy who installed it stripped one of the phillips screws. They make special reverse taps to pull out stripped screws, but he didn't have any.
I fixed it today by using my Dremel to cut a slot into the screw so you could take it out with a straight screwdriver. I'm embarrassed I didn't think of it sooner since I've seen it done on DIY shows.

One of the connections between the AC input in the #sonoff switch and the output was a black wire. I simply desoldered it.
The other was a #trace on the #pcb. So I cut it with a knife. Deeply.
But it still was connected! There was an identical trace on the other side, difficult to reach. So I grabbed the #Dremel and cut a giant hole on that poor pcb 😬
That is rough. And ugly, and unsafe... but it works perfectly! 😎
Tested the switch with the tester: not only it still works, but the two "output" terminals are disconnected from the mains and now they behaves exactly as if there was a switch between them! -

Anyway, I finally got the #EdisonCylinder #RecordPlayer/#Phonograph horn bell looking pretty nice.
There were a few rounds of (1) soak in ketchup (this really works), (2) scrub, (3) repeat.
Then I tried getting the really stubborn stuff off with bamboo skewers and various #Dremel attachments.
That worked, but left wavy patterns that I wanted to get rid of.
I tried scrubbing with Brasso. Helped a little, but no big effect, and OMG that stuff smells bad--it's like concentrated cat pee.
Finally tried gently swirling scrubbing with steel wool. That did the trick. -
Dremel Hack!
Instead of buying expensive soft tipped polishing bits to get into those nooks, chop a cotton swab in half and slide it into the Dremel. It won't last very long, but it really doesn't need to.

I may have a Dremel tool problem. I just "rescued" another one from the local Goodwill thrift store the other day, something I keep doing. Not sure how many rotary tools (mostly Dremel, but not all) I have now. At least six or seven, but maybe I'm forgetting some.
