The dreary year was coming to a close as I stood at the store trash compactor, the sickly smell of milk products from lattes sweet to me now for the job had saved me from the street. And there she was, crossing the lot in a seasonal satin dress and bomber jacket--a long-ago teacher about whom I had dreamt as we sailed the cerulean waters of the Mediterranean. Feathers. It has a beak that moves

There are the scars of the creator
Who meshed it together from
Fragments of all the wars.Only dreams can save us.

What makes a rainy day
Get described as #dreary?
As a kid I'd quickly dash
To the very biggest puddle
Just so I could make a splash.Off the school bus in a flash.
To give my dog a happy cuddle
Then out the door in a flash
To play till I was truly weary.
And in my memory replay
Rainy days are mostly cheery.
