I remember giving $10 seed money back in 2017. Apparently I haven't posted for 5 years tho. My account's still there. I also remember there was some controversy over whether to allow loli art (as per usz). I don't know how that ended.

The email abt going nonprofit was very honest & cool from Julie. Does anyone love PF? I threw my lot in with #Dreamwidth earlier this year but maybe PF is worth reconsideration.

Yesterday was SO exciting! I actually did #github stuff for the 1st time ever: learned what 'forking' was and what 'commits' are!

Using https://github.com/abuseofnotation/feed-aggregator I merged my #RSS feeds (so far I've got #Dreamwidth #Masto #Raindrop & put them into my #Neocities. The crowd in my head is going WILD right now!

I used #Perplexity to help me along. Wondering if, in an ironic twist, ppl will use #AI for #IndieWeb endeavors like this rejecting #BigTech...

Ok so my #indieWeb plans to use #Dreamwidth for blogging, my #neocities as a less frequently updated collection or archive of art, presentations, 3D designs, vids, etc. Spent a lot of time this evening fashioning my DW to match my site's aesthetic. Really looking forward to this now!

It's motivated me to revisit my choice for using #GoogleSheets & #notion for publishable charts & databases & web bookmarks tho. Any beloved free alternative recs for those things? (Remember #delicious? 🤌😭)

four nice things make a December post

I switched my Fic Updates DW Journal over to “entries are displayed in the journal-specific style” mode, realized for the first time how glitchy it looks on mobile, and spent a good chunk of today fussing with borders/margins/font sizes until I finally felt better about it.

The journal has mostly been “crossposting links from AO3” for a decade now, but in the past couple years I had a resurgence of using it for “behind-the-scenes about the writing” posts (all for Cover of Knight reasons). Finally came around to thinking, you know what, I want them to look customized.

Sometimes you post a thing and it just hits, huh? I put that art of “Lydia Deetz singing Gravity” on DA, and overnight it became the most popular thing I’ve uploaded there in years.

“DA doesn’t want live-action superheroes, it wants Cartoon Ladies” isn’t exactly news, but still. Watching those numbers zoom upward sure was something.
