I've mentioned on more than one occasion how I don't like much of what aespa put out, even though I think the members are both pretty and talented.

The song I've posted is one I do enjoy, but perhaps my enjoyment results from "Dreams Come True" not being a new aespa song. It's their version of the 1998 song by their kpop predecessors S.E.S, who in turn had adapted the Finnish group Nylon Beat's "Rakastuin mä looseriin" .

As well as enjoying the vocals and the visuals, there is one lyrical addition in the aespa version I always enjoy:

Don't you wanna up and down?<<

Many have mocked these lines as ludicrous "Konglish". I think of them differently. Although no native speaker of English would come up with these lines at the moment, I think of them as not so much non-idiomatic as supra-idiomatic. In their quirky way, they perhaps show one path that English might take as it continues to grow and develop as a global language, long having flown the nest of England. I also enjoy the imagery of the lines, which manage to be suggestively erotic but not lewd.
