30-Jan: Most unexpected twist on a trope?
Dreaming of a Freaking Fairytale is such a farce that nothing is sacred and they turn a lot of tropes into gags.
The typical catch & grab is reversed - which is becoming more common, but still turns out really unexpected, when the result is everything but love & tenderness.
Another is when a couple each gets one earbud to listen to the same thing. The music starts out lovely, but then something unexpected starts playing accidentally.
They did a fine job with turning tropes on their head.

Dreaming of a Freaking Fairytale
(2024 - Paramount 10 0:40 eps)A complete farce! Rich, arrogant, cold chaebol meets poor girl who readily admits she's looking for a Cinderella scenario. Both leads do grow as characters & the show has some good messages about being true to yourself, believing in yourself, & loving yourself 1st.
Decent chemistry - although Pyo Ye Jin disappointed a bit. 2nd lead (same as "Cheer Up") again in a horrible love triangle. Stupid antics, ridiculous meet-cutes, crazy animation & sound effects. Inside jokes about other dramas the actors have been in.
You have to meet this with the right mindset: it's crude & ludicrous. Somewhat similar vibe to "No Gain, No Love," but a common story & not nearly as well executed. Lee Jun Young does not take himself seriously at all - great comedy from him & tears too.

Is anyone watching "Dreaming of a Freaking Fairytale" AKA "Dreaming of Cinde Fxxxing Rella"?
Where is it streaming?
I really like Pyo Ye Jin & I've been on a Lee Jun Young quest without really realizing it. I watched "Let Me Be Your Knight" several months ago. I just watched "May I Help You" and I finished "The Impossible Heir" today.
But I can't seem to find it anywhere! I have enough on my plan to watch list, but I think this looks very funny & I was in the mood for funny.

When I have 100 on my Plan-to-Watch list, I have no business paying attention to other dramas, but I stumbled across 2022's "Crazy Love" on Hulu/Disney+ . Starring Kim Jae Wook (Her Private Life), Krystal Jung (Bride of Habaek), Ha Joon (Destined with You), & Yoo In Young (Oh My Venus), who I have enjoyed in other works - as well as some great & familiar side character actors.
On eps 9, & am bingeing. Typical narcissistic jaebol/secretary, enemies to lovers story, except that it has a few wonderful twists & great lead character development. Thoroughly enjoying the humor in this one - some dark, some slapstick. I think it may be underrated.
& this just started airing: "Dreaming of a Freaking Fairytale" (2024) The trailer looked good. I think it's on Paramount+. I liked the ML in "Let Me Be Your Knight" & I'm waiting for the FL to have a breakout role. This will be her second main role. Her support roles have been great.
