@DNDElise Been reading one that’s been in my library for a while now, but only recently got to reading it. It is #Hillfolk from Pelgrane Press. It introduces and explains Robin D. Laws’s #DramaSystem, and I’m pretty impressed with how it mechanically encourages dramatic #roleplaying.

Our #TTRPG group tried #Hillfolk tonight, using the #UnderHollowHills setting.
Not sure we can recommend it to folks. We all really enjoyed the characters we created and were having fun playin them, but the #DramaSystem mechanics left most of us cold. We tried to make it work, but I think it was a failed experiment. Too much focus on pushing story forward and a resolution system that was unnecessarily convoluted.
It needed one person pushing a story forward instead of us taking turns crafting a scene and trying to create drama. It felt artificial and forced.
As a thought exercise it might be interesting, but it wasn't the right system for our group.
