Every time when I watch #dragonheart and I see Dracos sad look when he rests his head on the ground like he would go asleep, when he dies, it pierces my heart. 😭
After so many years this movie still touches me more than any movie since.

Spišský hrad / Avalon
This is the scene that touched my heart back then—and still does today.
The rain scene (linked above) was filmed in the upper third of the lower courtyard. The dramatic approach to Avalon over the water isn’t possible in real life—there’s a town in the way. -
Kamenný raj
Another one of those scenes that’s just so funny—I absolutely love how natural and real the conversation feels.Once again, the vegetation here has grown significantly over the years. Still, the rock Draco sits on is clearly recognizable.

Tomášovský výhľad / The Camp
This stunning location is in Slovenský Raj (Slovak Paradise) National Park.
This is where Bowen and Draco set up camp, and it’s also the place where Draco receives his "human pronounceable name" from Bowen. -

Východná - The Old Code
One of my favorite scenes from the film was shot here. I love the way it blends Draco’s lighthearted attitude with a meaningful, serious conversation
The location has changed significantly over the past 30 years. A forest was planted, and the trees have reached full height. -
Vodná nádrž - Dragonsplash
This is where Draco “falls” into the lake after he and Bowen begin harassing Einon’s lackeys. Bowen shots an arrow at Draco which he catches. This is a hommage at the Scene in the Book "The Hobbit" where Smaug gets shot the same way. -

This is where the opening scene was filmed, in which Einon is shown learning swordplay from Bowen. Draco doesn’t appear here at all. -
