When you let Anders defend the Keep while your Warden goes to Amaranthine, the general timeline makes a bit more sense, since Nathaniel mentions Anders being *dead*. Just how did that Justice thing work then, because I most definitely had Justice with my Warden to defend Amaranthine.
The timeline between DA:O and DA2 is a mess.

Meredith is threatening that if I stand with the mages, I share their fate.
I am a mage. I would share their fate nonetheless, if I sided with her, technically.I fear Fenris’ rivalry is not high enough, so I doubt I can convince him to switch sides. Pity.
The funny thing is that I managed that just fine last time, without ever even doing his companion quest!Also, I love my Hawke’s nose. Everyone else has a perfect thin little nose, so I gave my Hawke a nice honker. I’m gonna give the Inquisitor one, too!

So apparently I’ve managed to make friends with Anders and I’m gaining a rival friendship with Fenris, as they have both been in my party after the expedition (Carver became a warden and I forgot how whiny and jealous he was! I always assumed Bethany was the middle child and Carver was the youngest, but maybe it’s the other way around, seeing how he acts 🤷🏻)
Anyway, Fenris is around while Anders explains he needs ingredients to do the ritual to get rid of Justice, and the salt peter is a powder used by Tevinter magisters. And… I mean, Fenris was a slave to a magister, surely he would have heard of it and what it could do? If I remember rightly, the things we’re looking for are to do with what happens at the end of this chapter, right? -

I’m sure it’s supposed to be a very respectable name, but not to a Finnish speaker 😂
If we take his name literally, it translates to a phrase one might say in a Finnish dialect, meaning ”it was in [rude word for female genitalia]”. -

On my way to free Corypheus. I mean, what kind of game would Inquisition be if he doesn't blow up the Temple of Sacred Ashes? Farming simulator? Ferelden Circle dating sim? Wait, that one could actually be fun.
Anyways... two Wardens, a dwarf and a Hawke walk into a secret fortress in the middle of the Vimmark Mountains. What could possibly go wrong. Right? Right...?

Daydreaming. Imagine Dragon Age 2 being more like Baldur's Gate 3, where friendship and rivalry isn't just a fancy bar and some dialogue changes. Where you could truly become a mage rebel, or ally yourself with the Templars. Instead, we can let mages escape (act 1) only to find them in the Gallows (act 2) and being pissed at us (act 3). Exactly how turning them in would've played out. Meh.
