#Veilguard is not a bad game. People just have expectations that are way to high and what's sad is the rage bait videos people make over it, YouTube's algorithm made them dominate the search results that positive remarks on the game just fell into a black hole.
It sickens me that people actually make money raging at games they won't ever play and it influences other people's opinions. Then they start calling those who enjoyed the game "shills" and other nasty insults.
I played every #DragonAge game and found something to enjoy in each of them. If you give Veilguard a chance, it's different from its predecessors but not as bad as those heartless creators of those videos claim it to be.
I have over 100 hours in Veilguard and will certainly continue to log more. 🎮

i think the big problem for me with veilguard is that like. playing the rest of the series as an elf / elf-sympathetic? ton of content, you can do a lot for elf liberation (less so in DA2, admittedly), and you really feel like you're getting the most you can out of the games.
but then veilguard comes around and all of that is just... swept to the wayside. elf oppression isn't really touched on at all, and the only endings you get are returns to a miserable status quo.

- #Syndicate: sameIt's a large list. It's worth $500M, give or take. $1.7B to go LOL.

Had an argument about Dragon Age which started out as me defending some of its less pleasant aspects (e.g. misogyny existing in the setting) and ended with people getting mad at me for saying Fereldans are racist barbarians who regularly slaughter elves & lobotomize mages
And I feel like if I weren't so tired I could make a salient point about how the flip side of needing media to be sanitized & unproblematic is the need to whitewash the things that you do like
