I've lost a lot of work in @moshidon because it doesn't save my half-written post as a draft when the app is being closed, or crashes, or the OS is shutting down.

Any chance of getting the apps to detect anything that triggers quitting the app, and save any text in a compose window to drafts? Or maybe autosave texts to some kind of buffer as they're typed, from which they can be recovered when the app reopens after being unexpectedly shut down?

@jarunmb #AppleNotes is a really, really good tool. For people/families wholesale invested in Apple's ecosystem it's superb - despite a couple of bizarre quirks like not being able to set a default font for newly-composed notes nor literally ANY ability to change font when using the iPhone.

For #Windows though, fuck it and in particular FUCK #Drafts for not having a Windows version. #Obsidian is king. It's the loincloth-wearing, top-of-the-mountain uber-pinnacle of PKM.

@viharm @jarunmb Don't get me wrong. I never said it didn't "work" for me. It did - for a full year. But here's the thing. I have two requirements for notes. One is immediate quick notes - what a lot of people use #AppleNotes, or #Drafts for. But I have #WINDOWS as well. Neither of those work. I use #Simplenote for it. Syncs multiplatform and I could give a fuck about it not being end-to-end secured. #Obsidian for cold-storage of notes. (1/3)

Holmes did not appreciate being interrupted, but having watched him writing and deleting draft toot after draft toot for several hours, I could not hold back any longer. Forgive me, Holmes, tell me, do you save your unsent toots for later editing?

Holmes put aside his ancient Blackberry. Oh, my dear Watson, that you should even ask! Of course not. Lestrade no doubt saves his draft toots on his iPhone, the good man. But then he also scribbles every obvious fact into his little detective's notebook, does he not. Good for him, I say. No, Watson, I don't save deleted drafts. I have a brain.

I write because I wish to write. If I want to share what I wrote, I post it. If not, I delete it. If any part of it persists, it does so without record. Now, let me get back to my phone.

He did not mind my scribbling down his words in my notebook as he spoke.

OK, wow. #Simplenote v2.22 has been released! FINALLY. v2.21 was released in Oct 2021 ffs. All along, I thought I was using the #DeweyDecimal System (but with a twist) to organize and categorize my files. And then I came across #JohnnyDecimal https://johnnydecimal.com/ while reading a blog post about #Obsidian and #Drafts from https://www.thoughtasylum.com/2022/12/29/new-obsidian-notes-from-drafts/

It still adapts Dewey Decimal System, since they have a somewhat similar method of indexing system. But mine is kind of similar to the JD System.

And they have a forum where I can lurk around and look for ideas.

The internet is amazing.
