While the channel had already been banned by #Moscow , the new designation allows for the #prosecution of staff and #donors in #Russia . The #Kremlin has increasingly cracked down on "undesirable" organizations since 2015.

This is a New Year's photo of employees of TV Rain (Dozhd) from their Amsterdam office. I found out that at least three people from this photo continue to make money in Russia, bringing money to sanctioned companies and oligarchs who sponsor the war in Ukraine.

The Dutch Media Authority granted independent Russian television broadcaster TV Rain, or Dozhd in Russian, a five-year broadcasting permit after its license was canceled in Latvia, according to a statement on the regulator's website.
The liberal-leaning TV Rain shifted to broadcasting from Latvia and other countries in July, after being forced to shut its Moscow studio following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
