J'ai donc cherché "arvern" et "auvergne" dans tous les textes latins du bonhomme (poèmes et lettres) et leurs traductions françaises. Sans succès : le terme revient fréquemment, mais jamais dans une formulation pouvant faire penser à la citation... Sur le point d'abandonner, j'ai eu l'idée de chercher plutôt "patrie", et bingo ! After all and briefly touching this in a conversation a few days earlier, finally took a bit of that time of being grounded to watch that "TempleOS - Down The Rabbit Hole" clip. And now am not feeling particular easy. I've been watching parts of this from way afar back then but never really did dig deep into it, lacking both time and interest to be spent on hobbyist operating systems without any practical purpose asides being "fun in programming". It always felt weird, the website and the system itself felt weird and it all had that appearance of yet another narcissistic hacker in his bedroom at his parents house writing code written all over it. It ended up to be the story of a difficult person living a difficult and sad life. It ended up to be the story of dynamics of online communication and communities, too. And it probably leaves a bunch of other thoughts behind as well. But they are kinda fun, and I have realised that this simple test process of building them from cubes won't cut it for serious usage, it just assumes far to hard that every vert/edge/face at the same position, is supposed to be the *same* vert/edge/face, but if you want to add wrinkles, for example, you will want to add a zero-width notch in the surface, mark the bottom of it as sharp, and then let the smoothing on the two outer edges pull them apart enough to become visible...
I really could use some asymmetric smoothing too, no point continuing to divide a surface that is already as small as I ever want to go...
Ah, well, work for another day...
I'll share the repo, in case anyone wants to fiddle with it... I might just make it a touch shinier first...
