In online threads on stories about these incidents, you can find comments like “fuck around and find out” or “violence begets violence.” To literally be Jewish, these comments imply, is to “fuck around.” And right in the heart of working class Jewish Toronto in #Downsview, #protesters are regular fixtures at a shopping centre, holding #racist signs depicting cave-lurking, hook-nosed #Jews, despite #Palestine organizers denouncing them.

However with so much density already out east in Scarborough the priority is really on serving existing residents, not a potential development in Downsview that might or might not pan out with the current halt on new condo construction.

Apparently the managers of #Yorkdale Mall in #Downsview, Toronto are concerned that a Fairweather Store will draw the unwashed into the mall and befoul its upscale ambience. Never thought of Yorkdale being upscale, but sure, okay. Image seems important to Yorkdale so I guess I will avoid shopping there, for fear I might not meet the standard of shopper they want to attract.
