@johnshirley2024 Reasonable observations there. I've been reading #DouglasRushkoff #SurvivalOfTheRichest and thinking about how his ideas apply to a country like China, where the dynamics of the economy are very different than those in Silicon Valley. Certainly the PRC elite have some things in common with the techno-capitalist elite, but I wonder if they suffer from the same naive blindness about the interconnectivity of supply chains and confidence in their ability to survive without them.

I started reading this book well before COVID hit us, the Ukraine was invaded, and Israel was attacked and finished it just recently. I have the feeling that the things he describes in his call to action are even further away now. Whenever we are given a stick and are being told that somebody took something away from us, we turn into primitive monkeys killing each other.
