In Winona, Minnesota there is a very good doughnut shop spelled "Bloedoes".
It rhymes with "Play-doh's".
Does that spelling look like it would sound anything like that?!
It sure doesn't to me.
Doughnuts 🍩 are really good, first place we found with the proper yeast doughnuts we prefer over cake doughnuts.
As we're from North Alabama, their glazed plain are the closest we've found to Krispy Kreme in this Driftless area.

Rivers loudly in muddy #spate after rain of past days. Stopped near #Buddo rock for lunch. Investigated the tunnel bunker just beyond. Then Rock and Spindle before final to St Andrews and #Caffè #Bomboloni for welcome #coffee & #doughnuts.

I like #doughnuts.
When I moved here ~19 years ago, my favourite place would sell me a #dozen for $5.99.
Today, that same dozen is $24.99.
That works out to an 8% increase, #compounded, every year. It isn't much different for other #food items. You may notice this figure is much higher than any #official #inflation numbers from the #Canadian government.
That's #deliberate. Out-of-control #government #spending and money-printing (#monetary inflation) causes price inflation.
