Was Friedrich Merz hier macht, ist strategische Kommunikation.

Die erste Gruppe, zu der er spricht, sind die Kapitalinteressen, deren Profite auf Zerstörung basieren. Denen signalisiert er: Es geht so weiter, Ihr braucht Euch keine Sorgen um Eure Profite machen. Diese Leute verstehen auch, dass sein Bekenntnis zum Klimaschutz sich nicht in Maßnahmen übersetzen, sondern ein reines Lippenbekenntnis bleiben wird. Mit Merz gibt es keinen Klimaschutz! Der Beweis dafür ist GasKathi als Wirtschaftsministerin.

Und als zweites ist da seine Machbasis, die amorphe Masse der CDU-Wähler*innen, die entweder so uninformiert ist, dass sie tatsächlich glaubt, Klimaschutz wäre nur mit einer "starken Wirtschaft" bezahlbar. Oder aber, die das Primat der Wirtschaft als Rechtfertigung für ihren Lebensstil brauchen - eine Mischung aus selbstzerstörerischem Hyperkonsumismus und der Tatsache, dass es sich ansonsten Scheiße anfühlen würde, die Zeit nicht mit Kindern und Enkeln verbracht zu haben, sondern im Büro Zahlen in Excel-Tabellen verschoben zu haben (s. David Graeber, Bullshit-Jobs).
Weil es eine Gefühlssache ist, braucht man denen auch nicht mit Fakten kommen. Das perlt am emotionalen Schutzmantel ab.

Da stört es auch nicht, dass faktisch alles an seinen Aussagen falsch ist:

Unser Überleben hängt an einer intakten Lebenswelt, nicht an irgendeiner Wirtschaft. Wirtschaft ist gestaltbar, auch innerhalb ökologischer und sozialer Grenzen. Das wollen nur ein paar wenige, mächtige Gruppen einfach nicht (siehe oben)

Gutes Leben hängt nicht an mehr Zeugs (wenn die Grundbedürfnisse gedeckt sind), sondern an mehr und besseren Beziehungen.

Wir brauchen nicht mehr Wirtschaft, sondern eine Wirtschaft, die in einen Steady State übergeht und nur noch das herstellt, was wir tatsächlich brauchen. Unter demokratischer Kontrolle und mit gerechter Verteilung.

Menschen sind nicht der Grund, weshalb wir keinen Klimaschutz haben. Die Bedeutung dessen wird weiter als sehr hoch eingeschätzt, insbesondere je jünger und weiblicher die Befragten sind (die wählen aber nicht die CDU! Und deshalb haben die für Lord Voldemerz keine Relevanz)

Der Grund, weshalb es Widerstand gegen "Klimaschutzmaßnahmen" gibt ist, dass diese durch mindestens die letzten zwei Regierungen ganz überwiegend maximal ungerecht ausgestaltet worden sind.

Mit fairem Klimaschutz ginge es uns allen besser, jetzt und in der Zukunft.

Ich könnte die @tagesschau als Medienakteur ernst nehmen, wenn sie ihren Job machen und die Annahmen hinter dieser Meldung hinterfragen würde.

Tut sie aber nicht, sondern übernimmt ohne Not das neoliberale Framing, nach dem kein Geld da wäre.

Das ist absoluter Blödsinn! Jeder ins Gesundheitswesen investierte Euro würde sich mehrfach auszahlen, "die Wirtschaft" in Schwung bringen und sich, eine vernünftige Steuerpolitik vorausgesetzt, absolut selbst finanzieren.

Dass öffentliche Güter wie die Gesundheit, die Bahn, Schulen ... runtergerockt werden, während Milliardäre und fossiles Kapital weiter gepampert werden, ist eine politische Entscheidung. Über die gilt es zu reden, nicht über einen imaginierten Sparzwang.

Wo bleibt unser verdammter Mamdani-Moment, in dem wer auch immer eine anschlussfähige, realistische Zukunftsvision aufmacht, aus der Erkenntnis heraus, dass an mit der Bewältigung tatsächlicher Probleme Wahlen gewinnen kann?

Das großartige SURPLUS-Magazin, welches leider seine Reichweite durch eine Paywall selbst untergräbt, hat eine Liste wirklich guter Bücher zusammengestellt, die gut dagegen helfen. (Ihr wisst, wo Ihr die Artikel ohne Paywall findet)

Kate Raworths "Doughnut Economics" liest sich weg wie ein spannender Roman, weil auf jeder Seite Aha-Momente warten und die Geduld durch eine faszinierende Aussicht auf ein Wirtschaften nach menschlichen Maßstäben belohnt wird.

Dana Meadows "Die Grenzen des Denkens" ist ein ähnlicher Eye-Opener was komplexe Systeme angeht.

Wenn das Hirn einmal angefixt ist, von der Idee, dass es auch anders - und besser! - ginge, öffnen sich völlig neue Perspektiven. dann fällt auch das Hoffen wieder etwas leichter ;)

If you're interested in Doughnut Economics (or are new to the concept) here's a new paper in Nature from Kate Raworth (instigator of the approach) & Andrew Fanning setting out some further developments in the concept & analysis.

Of course, they conclude GDP is both inaccurate & dysfunctional when it comes to shaping a response to the climate crisis.

Its not a quick read but may be worth taking the time to look at over the weekend...

Wir brauchen #ökonomische Bildung (im Sinne progressiver Ökonomik, nicht das, was die #FDP unter Wirtschaft versteht) und ein Verständnis komplexer Systeme in der Breite der Bevölkerung.

Dass ein Friedrich #Merz mit seiner Aussage, wir müssten mehr arbeiten, auf Zustimmung stößt, funktioniert nur, weil Menschen die Zusammenhänge zwischen #Ökonomie, #Verteilungsgerechtigkeit und #Wohlergehen nicht verstehen.

Und weil sie zwar Details ihrer Umwelt verstehen, aber nicht, wie diese in komplexen Systemen interagieren - und was daraus folgt, wenn man an Stellschrauben dreht.

Wenn wir schon in der Schule damit anfingen, wäre das gar kein Problem, denn das ist alles keine #RocketScience ... insbesondere Ökonomie nicht (eine Anhäufung von Quatschbegriffen, hinter denen sehr wenig Wissenschaftlichkeit steckt).
