Well, this is a disappointing turn of events. Do you remember my mentioning the local people in the area talking about the "huge" LTC under construction?
No wonder I couldn't find the construction site...I was searching for a "huge" piece of land.
Apparently I've walked by the site numerous times- ---they are creating only 64 beds.
The site is so small, I thought a tiny apartment building was under construction.
My citified expectations blurred my vision.The Centre is "taking advantage of Doug Ford's offer to help create 50,000 new long-term beds" but get this, 60 of the 64 beds will be filled by residents from the existing out-dated LTC that will then shut down.
And Ford will be counting the 60 as "New" beds!

@TomBerend The funny thing is that it was Toronto taxpayers who paid to install the bike lanes, but it's Ontario taxpayers who will pay to remove them.
#DougFord is pissed that Toronto didn't elect him mayor, and so he's running the city into the ground from Queen's Park instead, while everyone else in Ontario pays for it.
#Toronto has been a plaything for provincial governments since the days of Mike Harris. I often think we'd be better off as a separate province.

Tina Yazdani is one of the best reporters at Queen’s Park, never afraid to hold Doug Ford and his ministers accountable. So, of course, Rogers' Citytv News fired her.

They've also repealed restrictions that previously governed Personal Information Banks. Government and municipal institutions no longer have to disclose the existence of personal information banks, and no longer have to make the information contained inside retrievable.

While everyone's been focused on #DougFord exempting his cell phone and other government records from #FOI requests, he also removed oversight by the Information and Privacy Commissioner of his government's data integration practices. Data Integration allows the government to share personal and health information across departments. Previously the Commissioner had approve and oversee data integration. Now, she can't.
