In this day and age it’s quite mainstream for beer to come in cans (it’s not the novelty it once was), but when #DoubleMountainBrewery recently revealed that it’s (finally) canning its #beer and #cider, it warrants a closer look. The brewery famously resisted canning for a long time, focusing on its refillable bottle program in its sustainability efforts, and finally took the plunge this year.

For the first time ever, #DoubleMountainBrewery is releasing #beer and #cider in cans, expanding upon its refillable bottle program to align with customer expectations while still focusing on sustainability as a core tenet. The first beers in cans are Hop Lion IPA and Pilsner, and Dry Cider is the first cider. Hop Lion and Dry Cider are on shelves now.

The #FreshHop beers from #DoubleMountainBrewery have returned, and in conjunction with the releases, the brewery sent me a bottle of this year’s Killer Green Fresh Hop IPA. The other standards are back as well—Killer Red Fresh Hop IRA, and Fresh Hop Iowa Bar Fight—and this year, there’s going to be a fresh hop edition of Velvet Wallpaper IPA too.

Here’s a fun new #IPA from #DoubleMountainBrewery, in which the company collaborated with Bend’s own #VanHenionBrewing: Velvet Wallpaper IPA. Fittingly, it’s a west coast style IPA, playing to the strengths of both breweries.

#DoubleMountainBrewery doesn’t just brew #beer, but also crafts a variety of ciders, and recently the company announced its seasonal #cider lineup for 2024. Seven ciders are featured, three of which are new this year (and Double Mountain sent me a bottle of the new Harrison to sample).

Hood River’s #DoubleMountainBrewery revamped the look for its line of #ciders this year, one that is inspired by matchbook designs from the 1940s and 1950s according to the press release. Along with the new designs, the brewery slated six ciders for release this year, and sent me three to review.
