You can do fun things with transparent PNGs here if you size them the same aspect ratio as the thumbnail crop (250x140). :D

I was able to get it done with full-hot tap water. I tried that before heating water in a pan. That might have worked, but I was worried about scalding myself. (Big Chicken)
