Easing back into #DoomAndGloom... The #AQI is awful here in #Maine /#NorthernNewEngland today... And it's predicted to be worse tomorrow! I did find that wearing a PM 2.5 filter mask is helping when I'm outside. When I forgot to wear a mask, I couldn't stay outside very long!

Easing my way back into the #Doomposting (and boy, there's a lot of #DoomAndGloom out there). I did spend some quality time at the ##MétisOfMaine #PowWow today, and made some new friends -- including a fellow Two-Spirit person, who recognized that I, too, was one. We talked about what to wear when dancing (they were wearing both a ribbon shirt and a ribbon skirt). I mentioned that I felt called to wear a ribbon shirt (with pants), but also use a shawl -- because as a Diindiisi (Ojibwe word for "Blue Jay"), I needed wings when dancing. They totally understood where I was coming from. Hung out with a talented seamstress (a different one than the one who made my shawl), and talked to her about decorating my shawl with Blue Jay colors, along with the Métis symbol, and she should have the work done by the next PowWow. Psyched!

And, yeah, feeling a little #melancholy this late morning, with a dash of regret. Not a horrible thing, really, or unfamiliar, just something to sit with & through. And I'm still glad to be here, good day to be #sober, having a rich cup of #coffee (#CafeBustelo ftw), hanging out with my nephew, #cooking fantastic #greenchile #whitebean chicken soup, doing some #cleaning, watching a bit of #snowfall, etc. I'm not #DoomAndGloom, but I will gladly make time for a good #MurderBallad or something :-P
