Commenter on Instagram, to me : "Employ some critical thinking skills there, Colonizer!"
Me: "Tansi. FYI, I'm Indigenous."
Commenter: **Crickets***
🤣🤣🤣I'm baffled as to why they said that in the first place, btw. It was nothing to do with politics or Indigenous issues.
My profile on Instagram has no bio and no photo. No idea why they assumed I was a "colonizer".

I don't think anyone remembers the old internet wisdom, but you aren't supposed to feed the trolls. If someone posts something insanely stupid on the internet, there are two possibilities.
1. The person really is insanely stupid and your reaction won't change their mind.
2. The person is actually a troll and is looking for reactions because they get off on it.Either way, if you respond, you lose....
Don't feed the Trolls.
Have a nice day.

I no longer assume that everyone online is familiar with old school net culture. One of its old sayings is; "don't feed the trolls". The point being that most people being flippant ass-hats online do it for the attention, so if they don't get any, it's no fun for them, and they go away.
