I’m also really excited about the other productions this season: Felix Weingartner’s Kain und Abel is a brilliant expressionistic one act opera, and an exceedingly rare opportunity. I’m also singing Donna Anna, which is my most performed role, and I am happy to return to the role of the Witch in Hänsel und Gretel – I first sang this role 20 years ago, and I can't wait to have fun with it again!

Donna Anna's father has been murdered, and her fiancé Don Ottavio has just called her cruel for not wanting to marry immediately while she is grieving. This scene is her reaction: at first she is angry with him, then she lovingly asks him not to call her cruel, as he knows how much she loves him.
