No lo sabía pero resulta que ahora en #Domestika (parece que en realidad se implementó hace un par de años pero yo me enteré hace poco) al completar un curso no recibes certificado a menos que tengas la suscripción #Plus
No importa si pagaste el curso, si lo estudiaste y completaste los proyectos evaluados por el profesor, si no te suscribes a su comunidad no hay certificación. A mi me suena a elitismo y a una manera de sacar más dinero con la necesidad o gusto de las personas por capacitarse.

Pues me inscribí a un curso en #Domestika, y acabé siendo víctima de una estafa. Esa plataforma te "regala u mes gratis" de su servicio plus y si no te das de baja te cobra una suscripción anual, que al parecer no se puede cancelar una vez hecho el pago.
El curso no está nada mal, pero ese tipo de prácticas empresariales no me dejan ninguna gana de volver a comprarles jamás nada. Que se vayan a la mierda con sus embustes.

I found some really nice online Workshops at Domestika, but I totaly dislike their use of deceptive patterns such as fake fomo countdowns.
They propably think potential customers dont notice the manipulation - I think they do and like me they dont like it. Will not buy a course for now.

One thing I miss from my post-secondary days is the recommended resources or further reading from instructors. I realised my drawing habit had completely dropped off ever since #Snipette shut down. Before that, I used to end up illustrating almost every week 🙁
To get back in gear, I recently started the "Art of Sketching" course on #Domestika. It's been quite fun, not least because I discovered that it's legit to use my fountain pen for illustrations! ✒️

Currently, I am enjoying a course called "The Visual Poetry Diary", taught by Lina Botero. And trying to do the exercises on "automatic writing" in the languages that currently surround me... 😅

According to various reports, Domestika ("a community for creative people") has announced it intends to lay off about half its staff in Spain, replacing about 22 translators and 76 marketing specialists with machine translation and ChatGPT, whose product will be "checked" supposedly by just 2 members of staff.

Completed my first surreal landscape painting with watercolours and gouache, thanks to Ruth Wilshaw’s fantastic #Domestika course! This scene always calms me down when I walk past it.

Today I've bought four courses on sale on #domestika.org and started one of them. The learning is good, but why do you have to have this annoying background music? Instead of a few seconds silence between instructions, you fill my ears with "joyful" (maddening) guitar and whistling etc. This should be electable just like subtitles. #art #mastoart Don't be afraid of silence content makers! The world is too noisy already.
