Cooked the bones I got from the butcher with sweet potatoes, linseeds. Usually add some carrots to it too, but didn't have any.
Use the broth to make a sweet mix with oat to add to Mellie's daily food.
She cleaned up the pot and ate some of the mix with dog food and sausages.
I gave the pot to melli to clean. Perfect prewash service
I love my pre-wash service.

Mellie is having a fit.
Picked up 2kg bones from our local butcher for her and she is going crazy to have them.
Gave her a small piece before cooking the rest to have some broth with sweet potatoes for future meals.
It's nice to be able to get these for free. I have to cut them in half and freeze them for the coming days.
I give her one or 2 piece per week, so this should last a couple of months.

Jan 20, 2026 @ 20:00 (!) Good evening family & friends❣️ Still cold, wind chill is -0°F; now it's been a half-century since I've had a math class, but I don't recall that -0 was a thing at that time. Not sure when that changed...maybe one of the times they re-re-re-classified Pluto? (The planet, not the dog...) Anyway it is warm in here and that's what matters to me! Pete is on a local net in his ham shack, just fed the dogs so they are set for the night, and I will take care of my PoiBoiz shortly too. I slept most of the afternoon which wasn't a surprise. Made dog food (beef, pork, fish, sweet potatoes, oatmeal, green beans, blueberries, plus the usual flax meal and bone meal and parsley) for Maisie when I got up, it is cooling now and ready to go in the fridge when it's done. Oh the exciting life I lead hahaha! I will likely take the rest of the evening and watch TV or something, oh how I miss the days when I could read books!! I used to be an avid (x1000) reader for most of my life. I can read short amounts, especially if I can follow an audio book while reading the print version, without having to start over every few minutes after the words were misfiled (🧠🗄️) but it isn't the same as those delightful marathon book sessions! Reading was always so much more satisfactory than watching TV! Or is it just me...? OK, so I'm rambling, it's time to get going, and I will see you in the morning. Sleep well - good night❣️🙇♀️🥱🛌🌛

Baking some treats for Neloie, using broth from bones I cooked, some meat, fat and other stuff from butcher, cooked with sweet potatoes, carrots, string beans, oat and flour.
It will be a lot of treats to freeze with a full pot of bones and 2L of broth.
Mellie likes it so far. Will see how she does after a few days/weeks. Good way of saving money and giving Mellie good treats.

It is amazing how much Mellie loves chicken.
cooked some chicken legs and gave her the skin, the joints and the bones with the mix of dog food, carrots, and pasta.
She licked her bowl clean. And as her method of showing that she liked it a lot, she jumped on my bed and cleaned up her face on my newly changed clean sheets on the bed.
I never had a dog that is so obsessed with one type of food as Mellie.
She is one nutty dog.
