#DARPA revealed that an #AI-controlled jet successfully faced a human pilot during an in-air #dogfight test carried out last year.
DARPA began experimenting with AI applications in December 2022. It worked to develop an AI system capable of autonomously flying a fighter jet inside its experimental #X62A #aircraft. That allowed it to get the AI-controlled craft into the air at the Edwards #AirForce Base, carried out its successful dogfight test against a human in Sep 2023.

I had this idea of a dogfighting game similar to #starwars #roguesquadron with a #WW2 setting. But instead of fighting each other, humanity would be faced to fight a #Kaiju invasion.
This are some concept renders and not actual game footage. Have many ideas in my mind, including a complete backstory for the world this would play in. But I still don't know if this would be embraced by many people.

Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-17F. The MiG-17 - NATO reporting name 'Fresco' - was the immediate successor to the Korean War era Mig-15 in Russian service. With a cleaner airframe and a crude but serviceable afterburner on the Klimov VK-1 engine, the MiG-17 was transonic in a dive (rather like the Hawker Hunter). Powerful gun armament (1 x 37mm and 2 x 23mm cannons) was optimised for bomber interception, but the aircraft proved a formidable opponent in Vietnam War dogfights against early F-4 Phantoms (which did not have a fixed gun armament) as they were far more agile.
