After a night of heavy rain (hooray) a lovely view across to Ruberslaw with the dugs, all of whom came back completely knackered but feeling they had given the balls a run for their money.

Bonnie and Clyde hang back hoping for a head start when the balls come back out of the rucksack (the Collie is consistently faster than both of them).
Lovely temperature and we are looking forward to the lunchtime run and blackberry forraging.

Morning walk
Another lovely morning at 6.30 and we will probably take a run up to the peak on the horizon to get a view of the partial eclipse this afternoon - with a pinhole camera ‘carefully’ constructed from cardboard, kitchen foil and a greaseproof paper screen.

Morning walk - another glorious start to the day - short and t-shirt for running later on. The forecast seems to indicate that we will have this for another week, and then the traditional Scottish summer will kick in. ☔️(actually I don't and never have owned an umbrella)

Rozmohl se nám tady takový nešvar: psí hovínka. Zdá se, jako by si mnoho psích majítelů myslelo, že horko omlouvá neuklízení psích výkalů. A pak že prý není žádná změna klimatu, když si ji prakticky každý může našlápnout na podrážku. -
Morning walk.
After a very dry month we had some decent rain - luckily none of us suffer from Sugar Mouse Syndrome. But it was all action - they chased down a dangerous squeaky ball and retrieved it every time it escaped. An we had waters - conveniently the only dug who noticed them was the Collie and he never chases livestock.
The colour of the undergrowth reflects the lack of rain we have had.

Morning walk
One of them has put a lot of energy into chasing balls and run about double the distance of the other two - guess which one. We had a lot of deer today, at least seven in two different groups. Chai noticed them (and of course counted the livestock, as Colies are wont to do), but the other two were too intent on staring at the ball to pay any attention.

Luckily I packed a bin bag - for as fking usual people have left rubbish on the small beach - and still they will expect to return and find it pristine 😖🤬

Morning walk
A deer morning rather than rabbits, hares or pheasants. The lLab kept giving me surreptitious glances wondering whether he could make a break for it and chase, but a sever ‘do that and you are on your lead for the next 5k persuaded him to go on snuffling in the undergrowth. The collie will never chase anything other than another dog unless instructed to.

Had to be over in Cumbria to run regular errands, so we left just after 4 this morning to avoid the heat and walk the OAPs elderly Westie before it got to warm. After the inevitable dip in the river, the Collie has resigned himself to a dull day until it cools down

A morning walk with the dugs. It was already warm at 7.30 so that is the last outing with Chai until this evening I think, excepting possibly a walk and dip in the river. I spent a very pleasant five minutes watching three hares bouncing around (just visible on the phone photo) - just running, no boxing by the standing stone. To the bemusement of the three hounds who thought I should be using the time to throw balls or get them back for breakfast.
