While at Home Depot today, I found Ryobi released a small rotary tool using their small battery system. Meaning, changeable rechargeable batteries. Proprietary, sure, but that’s tools.

It’s smaller and lighter, and no other stuff is needed as the battery is USB rechargeable.

Gonna give this a rip for a bit. I think it’ll make things a bit easier.

Milwaukee has a small battery system, but no rotary tool from what I can see. Ryobi got the sale this day.

I have used a Milwaukee rotary tool with a 60 grit sanding band for dog nail grinding for years. But this is tough to recommend because it’s a fairly unwieldy tool.

Dremel makes a pet nail grinder, but they use garbage batteries that fail a lot. It’s why I switched to the Milwaukee.

Dremel makes a non-pet cordless rotary tool that’s a bit smaller, but it has a fixed battery, so if it fails, oh well.

So I basically steer people away from Dremel.

Seattle apparently suffers from a veterinarian shortage and a dog groomer shortage. My faithful groomer retired, and I have been caught short. This last time, I had to wait 3 months for an appointment. I guess the idea is to make you schedule a year in advance, with no guarantee your groomer won't go somewhere else (and you would find yourself without an appointment!). OK then. I am now a dog groomer. I spent less than 2 grooming appointments worth on the equipment. Monty was so patient, he just let me clip and mangle his hairstyle with no complaints. If he was human, I'd really have been fired PDQ. I still need to finish trimming his face, but he looks OK if somewhat lopsided. Now to trim around his eyes 🤔

I know this is a long shot, but does anyone know of a #dc based mobile#DogGroomer? I'm needing someone to come to my home and give my #dog a haircut and nail trim. he's a standard #poodle, and because I've been under the weather, I've been unable to do the amount of brushing/combing he needs.
