Anyone else highly relate to Doctor 14's exhaustion and stress at the end of The Giggle? I felt like he was standing in for all of us post-pandemic - but also specifically for someone like me, who's also about to turn 60 and is feeling it. Where's my hug from Doctor 15? :)

OK, thoughts, 2 doctors, 2 tardises hmmm. 15 says 'what this place needs is chairs' 14 needs to heal re all past companions. 14s TARDIS is parked. Memory TARDIS anyone (with chairs and memories of past companions) 14 to change his face a few times to become the caretaker (4). CW: Spoilers & discussion: Doctor Who - The Giggle
Well that was excellent. Russell T Davies' humour doesn't always appeal to me, but in this special it was spot-on - he managed to make the Toymaker both entertaining and terrifying.
Certainly the violence in that crazy dance sequence inside UNIT HQ was perfect in its combo of the funny and scary.
I also liked the deft touch of the dodgy German accent, which ties in with the villain's dodgy Chinese outfit in his previous appearance in 1966. Basically the Toymaker likes imitating human dress and speech, and is a bit bigoted/crap at doing it.
As for that last 15 minutes or so from the "bi-generation"... obviously I *loved* Ncuti Gatwa as the Doctor, he inhabited the role immediately and was enormously confident in it.
Not sure about keeping the tired old Tennant Doctor in existence; it suggests perhaps a lack of confidence in Gatwa. Personally I hope Doctor 14 can no longer regenerate and will fade away in due course.
As always with modern DW it doesn't pay to think too hard about plot points. Why, for example, did the Toymaker make people go mad via the Giggle? It wasn't part of a game. And duplicating the TARDIS - ouch. Maybe they needed to make it clearer that was Doctor 15's prize for winning the game.
Nice touches of continuity here and there, particularly the Toymaker's puppet presentation of what happens to the Doctor's companions in the modern (specifically Steven Moffat's) version of DW.
And welcome back Mel! I'm pretty sure she is the only companion to have seen two regenerations. Am I right?

Not sure how I feel about the end of the latest #DoctorWho60th episode. First impressions I like the new Doctor, but some of the latest episode just feels like cheap writing.

No spoilers but that ending is just perfect. It's RIGHT. But also I didn't see it coming AT ALL and instead of being overjoyed I'm still in shock because NO, no spoilers. And then there's Ncuti, I mean... Ok, going to bed now.
