Just realised Tom Baker is 91 and now I am terrified I will get some bad news sometime soon about my favourite Doctor.

CW: Spoilers & a hug: Doctor Who - The Giggle
Anyone else highly relate to Doctor 14's exhaustion and stress at the end of The Giggle? I felt like he was standing in for all of us post-pandemic - but also specifically for someone like me, who's also about to turn 60 and is feeling it. Where's my hug from Doctor 15? :)
-
Still my favorite scene from the Doctor Who specials and maybe my favorite of the entire series (at least, of David Tennant's era). #DoctorWhoَ #DoctorWho60th #doctorwhofanart #TheGiggle #TheFourteenthDoctor #FourteenthDoctor #DavidTennant #fanart #sketch #sketchbook #pencildrawing

CW: Spoilers ahead for special 3 'The Giggle'
OK, thoughts, 2 doctors, 2 tardises hmmm. 15 says 'what this place needs is chairs' 14 needs to heal re all past companions. 14s TARDIS is parked. Memory TARDIS anyone (with chairs and memories of past companions) 14 to change his face a few times to become the caretaker (4). Just my thoughts. #doctorwho #doctorwho60 #DoctorWho60th #doctorwho60thanniversary

CW: Spoilers & discussion: Doctor Who - The Giggle
Well that was excellent. Russell T Davies' humour doesn't always appeal to me, but in this special it was spot-on - he managed to make the Toymaker both entertaining and terrifying.
Certainly the violence in that crazy dance sequence inside UNIT HQ was perfect in its combo of the funny and scary.
I also liked the deft touch of the dodgy German accent, which ties in with the villain's dodgy Chinese outfit in his previous appearance in 1966. Basically the Toymaker likes imitating human dress and speech, and is a bit bigoted/crap at doing it.
As for that last 15 minutes or so from the "bi-generation"... obviously I *loved* Ncuti Gatwa as the Doctor, he inhabited the role immediately and was enormously confident in it.
Not sure about keeping the tired old Tennant Doctor in existence; it suggests perhaps a lack of confidence in Gatwa. Personally I hope Doctor 14 can no longer regenerate and will fade away in due course.
As always with modern DW it doesn't pay to think too hard about plot points. Why, for example, did the Toymaker make people go mad via the Giggle? It wasn't part of a game. And duplicating the TARDIS - ouch. Maybe they needed to make it clearer that was Doctor 15's prize for winning the game.
Nice touches of continuity here and there, particularly the Toymaker's puppet presentation of what happens to the Doctor's companions in the modern (specifically Steven Moffat's) version of DW.
And welcome back Mel! I'm pretty sure she is the only companion to have seen two regenerations. Am I right?

Not sure how I feel about the end of the latest #DoctorWho60th episode. First impressions I like the new Doctor, but some of the latest episode just feels like cheap writing.

CW: Doctor Who
The last of the 3 #DoctorWho #DoctorWho60th specials dropped today!
It was bonkers as heck and I loved it.
Welcome, Fifteen!

No spoilers but that ending is just perfect. It's RIGHT. But also I didn't see it coming AT ALL and instead of being overjoyed I'm still in shock because NO, no spoilers. And then there's Ncuti, I mean... Ok, going to bed now.

The kitties of the Patchwork Palace hope this #Caturday of the third and final 60th anniversary special of "Doctor Who" is purrfectly fantastic!

The final Doctor Who episode for the 60 th anniversary trilogy is on tonight (Saturday 9th Dec 2023) and I fully expect to cry because Ten probably has to regenerate (again) - and also Donna might die (for reals this time) and still not sure how I would feel about that.
Yep.
-
I mean, the Star Beast and Wild Blue Yonder are both decent episodes, but neither has really felt like an epic celebration the way Day of the Doctor was. Well, one more to go. #DoctorWho60th

Ok friends are we watching the second #DoctorWho60th today??
-
This is so strange but a bunch of people on IMDB are rating a Doctor Who episode that hasn't even aired yet. Most are either 1 star or 10 stars. Am I missing something? Why is this even allowed ? I know the last episode generated some weird controversy but this is going too far.

“… waited all your life?”
“You wish.”For a nanosecond, Fourteen was trolling for a companion. And she slammed that door HARD.

For everyone enjoying the new #doctorwho with DT, Donna, and Beep the Meep here’s a lovely splash page opener from one of the instalments of the original comic strip from Doctor Who Weekly - as it was then. Script by Pat Mills and art by future @Watchmen artist Dave Gibbons. This story opened the run of the then new weekly putting the Doctor’s adventures firmly on a more realistic Earth that young readers would be familiar with. #DoctorWho60th #AllHailTheMeep #thestarbeast

CW: And now … Doctor Who spoilers
How has David Tennant aged that much since he was Ten but Donna’s not aged at all?

I have a #DoctorWho #question :
What were the two 'Dubai' references all about? Am I missing something 'important'?

In that case there must be something odd about the initial growth rate of hybridised strains of semi-timelord that Russell hasn't told us about yet.
