  1. X’s all the way down. It’s a long and slightly convoluted story. And like all good stories, there are a couple of parts that are bit mad, but it comes together in the end just about perfectly. #DocBook #InvisibleXML #XML

  2. XProc Gradle plugin. Announcing a new Gradle plugin for XProc that supports both XML Calabash and MorganaXProc-III. #XProc #MarkupMonday #Kotlin #Gradle #DocBook

    so.nwalsh.com/2026/05/04-gradle

  3. Better CALS in DocBook. The DocBook xslTNG Stylesheets version 2.8.0 have better (and faster) CALS table processing. #XML #DocBook #MarkupMonday

  5. DocBook list archives restored!. I’m pleased to report that the archives of the DocBook mailing lists at OASIS have been restored. #DocBook #MarkupMonday

  6. 🎮📚 Ah, the riveting world of eight-year-old Nintendo DS programming #guides, because why play games when you can write a #DocBook manual on them! 🙄🕹️ This epic journey of revision history is almost as thrilling as reading a list of paint drying times. 🕰️✨

  7. @ndw Hopefully the <oXygen/> devs will implement it properly. #DocBook #XSLT

  8. Sunsetting the XSLT 1.0 DocBook Stylesheets. Occasionally, I observe issues opened on the XSLT 1.0 stylesheets. That makes me uncomfortable, because I don’t think anyone is ever going to fix them. #XML #DocBook #XSLT

  9. DocBook 5.2.1. I’ve updated the website, the content distribution site, the Maven packages, the documentation, and published the releases. #XML #DocBook #MarkupMonday

  10. So the time has come for me to write some proper documentation for xrust... does anyone have a recommendation for #docbook or #DITA editing? Not sure which to go with yet, my #XML knowledge is from the finance world. 😅

Would like to output some static files for hosting.

  11. 🧩 XML 🧩. I love how the pieces fit together. In this case, for a possibly mad idea about publishing with Typst. #XML #InvisibleXML #DocBook #Markdown #MarkupMonday

  12. DocBook spring cleaning. I dunno if it’s really spring yet, but I’ve tidied up a few DocBook-related websites. #DocBook #MarkupMonday

  13. @phanthomas Interessant ist, dass die SuSE-Dokus mit #DocBook erstellt wurden, u. a. vom Autor eines Buches dazu.

  14. DocBook xslTNG-gradle. Introducing a Gradle plugin for transforming DocBook documents with the xslTNG stylesheets. #DocBook #MarkupMonday #Gradle

  15. DocBook updates. Updates to the DocBook xslTNG Stylesheets and my XProc-for-DocBook repository. #XML #XSLT #DocBook

  16. I am old enough to remember software development without a culture of tests and testing. Everytime the 1700+ tests for the #DocBook xslTNG stylesheets pass, I know that my changes are unlikely (and only "unlikely", more tests are always needed) to have [expletive] everything up. And it feels good.

  17. Got as far as writing the release notes for a new #DocBook #xslTNG release before remembering that I'll have to sort out the new Maven Central upload API before I can actually release it. Oh, look, a cold beer and a comfy chair! Maybe tomorrow.

  18. @gnome
#GNOME powers libxml2 powers xsltproc powers #Docbook automation for Ada & Zangemann #FSFE book translation powers the next generation of #FOSS hackers git.fsfe.org/FSFE/ada-zangeman So yeah, donations matter! #AdaZangemann

  19. I tried validating #Docbook v5 using #xmllint from #libxml2 via #RelaxNG and #Schematron but wasn't successful. The RNG validation threw unexpected errors and the Schematron validation threw an internal error. It could be my source file, but it seems fine. Does somebody here have a working setup or tips to share?

  20. The more I delve into #Docbook and #XSLT the more I start to love #XML As a source format it can be very expressive and customizable, plus you can reuse standard elements and attributes from others. Follow my journey here: git.fsfe.org/FSFE/ada-zangeman

  21. DocBook xslTNG 2.5.0. Version 2.5.0 of the stylesheets is a major release with some (maybe) backwards incompatible changes. #DocBook #XSLT #XML

  22. @es0mhi @david_megginson Besides plain TeX, I also use DocBook XML with xslTNG stylesheets, and ndw who made these stylesheets is also editor of DocBook spec, had made an emacs library to dump XML representation of org-mode document, which might be interests to you github.com/ndw/org-to-xml
