Die deutsche Kauflaune bleibt auch in der #Veranstaltungstechnik zurückhaltend, weswegen ich mein altes #LSC #MantraLite #ArtNet / #DMX #Lichtpult noch in ein anderes Portal eingespeist habe… das neuere Modell verwende ich weiterhin gerne.

Okay, er ist ja auch schon etwas abgehangen und die alte CPU-Board-Version (#RaspberryPi 2) aber es tut alles.
Und das Ding ist wirklich einfach zu bedienen. Ich nutze selber die neuere Version.
Aber bevor ich den noch billiger mache, verschenke ich ihn ja fast lieber. *murmelmurmel* Neupreis war mal über 2k€.

Kann man eigentlich so einen #Wärmeheizstab fürs #Warmwasser an einen alten #DMX-#Dimmer anschließen?
Ohm'sche Last an Phasenanschnittdimmer, sollte doch gehen?
Fast alle #Heizstab-Modelle scheinen ja nur an oder aus zu können. Das heißt, entweder 2,5kW Verbrauch, oder nix… wer also hypothetisch gerade 1000W #Solarstrom übrig hat, der hat gar nix von dieser Art Speicher, also vom Einlagern von heißem Wasser zum Duschen und/oder für die Nacht. Da muss man schon genauer steuern können.
Die Gefahr ist natürlich, dass die herumliegenden chinesisches Billigdimmer den Dauerbetrieb nicht lange mitmachen.

Preparing for a little #EventTech job to come… so I simply need two colorful lights, and I have to bring my laptop anyways. Sounds like #DMX / #ArtNet via wifi to me, and since this is #UbuntuStudio #Linux, there's not many options, #qlcPlus is one of them.
Well, QLC+ (version 4.x here), it's free, even open source, but still… I never got really used to it. It is quite different from most lighting consoles.
There's no way to select multiple fixtures in the virtual console, and the faders for RGB fixtures only work until 50%, above they fade into plain white.
But still, it will do the job and I won't have to bring my #lscMantraLite. Which would do the job very well, but there's virtually no FOH space available and it's just those two lights… (other lights in the venue are also there… but not DMX-controllable, haha.)

So I wish I could stop here and just clean up the UI and what not. But now, I'm searching for ArtNet perfection rn.
So I implemented an ArtNet framebuffer capture, device templating system and just need to knock out the per fixture render pipeline.
But long story short, I don't want to just cut off one user's connection. I want smooth mother fuckin transitions 'n shit.
I want full show capture, play back 'n viz.

So with all this in place ordinary lighting design software like QLC+ (and of course many proprietary options) can send ArtNet data to the proxy service just like normal.
And when needed home assistant and other users can interrupt or request access to ArtNet.

One tap to stop the ArtNet show and turn off the fixtures.
Double tap to turn on the non-moving fixtures to all white.
You can of course do this from the Home Assistant web page too!
I've got brightness control working and soon, color control from HA!

Oh, I almost forget to post about this:
For @cato's amazing #FurryTramFFM I'd got the last-minute idea to make the #StageLighting a bit more interactive this year.Sure, I could've just used a small or software lighting console, but then I (or somebody else) would always need to be "responsible" for the lighting.
Instead, I've built three wireless paw-switches that each trigger a specific effect.
So you can just pass them through the tram and let people have fun smashing the buttons to the beat :DAnd what can I say. I think it turned out great and people had fun!

Benson the warehouse cat stopped by the studio just now to say hello and get scritches. A welcome break for me as I continue to work on the integration of #OBS and #VUO and the #DMX lights and stuff. I'm almost back at the point I was late last year before the whole studio remodelling and before I decided to replace QLC+ with Beam.
But never mind all that here's me spinning a cat on a stool, just in time for #caturday
