Ich habe gestern vergeblich versucht herauszufinden, aus welchem Baum diese Djembe hergestellt wurde. Mit Thomann, Abt. Schlaginstrumente telefoniert, die wissen nicht aus welchem Holz. Hat wohl noch nie jemand gefragt, Djemben verkaufen sie. Ich überlege, ob es Red Ceddarholz ist, weil es sowohl hell als auch rötlich ist. Kennt sich hier jemand mit #Holz für #Djembe aus? #Holzverarbeitung #Instrumente #Holzarten #Akazie oder #Mahagonie Wäre schön, wenn das geteilt würde… #Instrumentebau

This article in WESTWORD just dropped. Featuring Drums and Space, the Grateful Dead cover band that is performing on Saturday night (3/16/24) at the Drums and Space w/ Daft Phish & Djembe Orchestras of Colorado at Herman's Hideaway in Denver.
The article is about the band and features the leader, Eric West, and how it all came about.

Yesterday...FULL ORCHESTRA...OUTSIDE!
Bald Eagle does a fly by. Local residents walking by sit down for a listen...take photos and videos because they liked, no they LOVED what they were seeing and hearing. And WE...We Were All One...We were all DRUMMERS.
Feeling all the feels:
WONDERMENT at my good fortune to be there!
GRATITUDE for being healthy & fit enough to participate in classes, rehearsals and performances.
AWE for Gregg Hansen's, teaching methods that turn even non musicians into a competent ORGANIZED PERFORMATIVE TROUPE of drummers in an astoundingly short amount of time.
LOVE for the people who share the experience with me week after week
PEACE and UNBRIDLED JOY.That's what YESTERDAY was for me. Spring is here & we can gather OUTDOORS to enjoy the colors & sounds of nature intermingled with the sounds of our drumming as we come together to create Gregg's vision for our upcoming performance season-shaping up to be AMAZING.

Find what you #love and fill your days with those things. Anyone who has joined this group or visited this page, knows about one of the things I love passionately: Djembe #drumming WITH my relatively newly acquired #Djembe friends/family. The reason to fill your life with the things you love is, IMO, because when you're doing something you LOVE it changes your vibration. You put out from you body, heart, spirit a #vibration of love. It permeates your aura and the air around you. It naturally draws TO you other beings who are vibrating at the same level.
#Emotions set your vibrational level. When you wallow in negative emotions it weighs you down and can be palpable to everyone you come into contact with. Try to DECIDE to become positive. IT WORKS.
Counting my blessings and wishing all of you many days filled with what and WHO you love. -

I've watched this 1/2 dozen times so far. I love seeing the female touch when it comes to #djembe #drums. These young women are #astounding. One of the commenters on this youtube video said exactly what I was thinking the first time I saw it.
"The thousand hours of practice behind this level of #synchronization!"
