  1. I got the two #ARMSID ’s, it took a few days to make them work in my circuit as they require the phi2 1MHz clock that was not needed for the #SwinSID, so I had tho see how to generate it with the STM32. My gosh, the sound quality is amazing 🤩 No more aliasing in the filters and deep and convincing basses. The ARMSID is truly an amazing little thing, I love it! #retrocomputing #SID #C64 #C128 #Commodore #diysynth

  2. Finished #soldering. What I learned so far: l should clean between soldering #SMD components and #throughhole ones. I should leave enough space between the SMD components. I also dislike 0806 #resistors, better get some in 1206 size. The #capacitors were okay.
I tried it out with a square and a triangle wave as two inputs, connected through #potentiometers on a mini #breadboard and looked at the #oscilloscope

  3. Finished #soldering the #perfboard yesterday. Sadly, it didn't work as intended. Now comes the fun part — analyzing and fault finding. Already fixed one of the issues by replacing a #capacitor with a bigger one. Now the trigger and gate are generated correctly, but the output buffer for them are constantly high. The sample and hold for the CV outputs worked from the beginning.

  4. Attention #RaspberryPi #Zynthian #DIYsynth

#HifiBerry is doing 20% off on all boards for #blackfriday - there's a lot of ripoffs around that day, but this is not one.

I have most recently acquired an actual Zynthian v5 box and getting the hang of all the stuff in there is my priority at the moment, but if you're interested in doing any sort of DIY synthesizer or DSP based on the Pi platform, I own several of their boards and they sound as good as any audio device I have owned in my lifetime.
