One of our members is turning a Mini 4WD car into a track analyser. A sensor and battery mounted in the car's body record movement data during a run, helping him compare chassis setups and tune the car for the track.
The latest version sends live data over Bluetooth. In the video, you can see the car move and watch the sensor readings come in.

Running local AI models made one member's laptop run hot and slow. His solution: a custom fan-based cooling stand, now on version 2. The project also gave him plenty of practice with CAD modelling and splitting a large design for a smaller 3D printer.

One of our member build a small turret orchestra inspired by Portal 2.
Each turret is driven by a solenoid switched through a solid state relay. Conductive copper strips and 3D printed spring contacts make the units hot-swappable, while a Pi plays a MIDI file and the original audio at the same time, triggering each turret based on its assigned note.

One of our members built a 3D printed Battle/Death Racer. If you haven't heard of them: Death Racers are small motorized vehicles where the goal is to knock the hat off the other rider's figure. The more racers, the better the duels.

The main visual part of this project is finished. It started during a lab reorganization: old components that still work but disappear forever once they go back in the box. Small repairs, real impact: the dishwasher wheels had gone brittle over the years. Chris and Chris designed and printed replacements. The first PLA version got a flat right away, but ABS holds. Also rescued: a thyme shaker with a broken lid, now fitted with a new printed lid featuring a "T" hole.

Two members rescued a lonely bike from the trash. Since both wanted to learn more about bike repair, they went all in: completely disassembled it, cleaned and oiled all the important parts, repainted the frame and put it all back together. The result is a nicely refreshed retro bike.

Our Bluetooth sound panel was getting buggy, so one motivated member rebuilt it from scratch using our electronics stock. The new MuMaLab Control Panel has soldered connections, industrial-grade buttons, a logarithmic fader and a sturdy TRS aux input. No more crackling, no more loose connectors.

One of our members upgraded their 3D printer lighting with a WLED-powered LED strip on an ESP32-C3, powered via a buck converter from the printer's own supply. Two buttons cycle through work, camera, and fireworks modes. The highlight: an automatic progress bar animation every 30 seconds while printing. Logic runs in Node-RED, integrated with Home Assistant.
