The thing that most strikes me as I read these counterculture publications and analysis thereof is this idea that "The Internet" or "computers" will do a thing.
No.
The Internet will not dissolve monopolies or bureaucracy. The Internet is a tool. People can use that tool to do things, but it will be people that do the things.
#diymedia is important to me specifically because it is about putting people in the position to create media for themselves and their community. The Media won't save us, people will.

Took a half day from day job to do #AnalogRevolution work. Honestly, so incredibly refreshing. We fixed a couple of things in our art for the Hurly Burly/New Clear Lawn Chairs split, and the Doctor Deathray album art for 51 Miles From Nowhere looks fucking killer. The front cover looks amazing, and the back cover is almost done as well. Like, we doing things.
