was working last night on a new outdoor platform that will eventually house an outdoor cooking/woodworking idea i have and was using the laser level to mark the vertical support feet when i accidentally created a super sweet matrix/rave effect in the forest..

I finally finished pointing this wall! Please note that I had never done this before, which is why it looks like absolute bollocks 🤣 I've made a lot of mistakes, I learned a lot and maybe I'm good enough at it now to work inside the house 😅 To be determined. For now, I'm super glad that this is finally done and it's not in a place where I will have to look at it very often. 😁

Here's a #diwhy from a few months ago.

I needed to do some additional repairs to the plumbing bits up near the window shade, but the rented scaffolding had been sent back already. (I already did what I could by climbing down onto the windowshade from the roof, but there was more stuff to do just below.)

It worked out fine, even though these bamboo ladders aren't very good.

Here's a #diwhy from a few months ago.

Kitchen update: All the old flooring and underlayment under the West wall cabinetry has been removed, the cabinets have been put back in place with new plywood underlayment under them, and spouse is now removing the top layer of vinyl flooring and plywood from the open area.

We have everything ordered except cabinet hardware (hinges, drawer glides). Appliances are ordered, but will be delivered when we’re ready for them.

I’m still waiting on stain/finish to arrive so I can stain samples of our cabinet plywood to see how it will look with the new flooring. The stains I’ve tried so far have not yielded the color I am hoping to achieve.

I know, my life is so exciting and glamorous.

I modified this yukata #kimono by shortening its length to become a shirt. I added tassels at the shoulders that are attached to drawstrings in the sleeves. When you pull down the tassels, they pull up the sleeves 👘

To clarify, what I mean by “don’t be fooled by how orange our actual wooden floors are” is that it’s altering the perception of all the LVP colors by contrast. For instance, Fresh Oak is quite red. Mayfield Oak is quite yellow/gold, and Dusk Cherry is rather pink in undertone. Sterling Oak and Ledge Point Pecan aren’t quite so grey, etc.

I like the vent hood treatment and overall vibe of this pic. White oak is so hot right now, and I like the shaker style cabinets paired with the sleek matte black vent hood and open shelves.
It has some Japandi vibes, but the shaker cabinets also pull it a little more contemporary.

Ofc, our kitchen is much smaller than this—the ceilings are less than 8 ft and we wouldn’t have so much space on either side of the cooktop.
