اللهم إنا نجعلك في نحورهم، ونعوذ بك من شرورهم‏
“O Allah, we deliver them into Your charge and we seek refuge in You from their evils.” (Abu Dawud) The Prophet recited it when he faced an adversary. The Metaphor: The phrase: “Place You in their throats/chest (fi-nuhurihim) is a linguistic way, seeking to intercept the enemy’s power at its source and to repel their aggression before it can reach you.
The purpose: seeking divine protection from any harm others might intend. #DivineProtection

like a bird after seed
yet what i sought eluded me
nor did my want recede

my wings had brought me 
to the end of all i'd ever known
torn by storms a waste thought i
