I deviated from my usual eating patterns for my birthday party on Sunday and am still dealing with the repercussions today. I love birthday cake, strawberry daiquiris, and snacking all day, but my GI tract does not. It went on strike.

I was so bloated last night that I looked third-trimester pregnant. I'm considerably smaller today after deplorable bathroom shenanigans taking place throughout the night courtesy of a teeny weeny pill, but I have no appetite. My IBS has been flaring up since the morning of my birthday party. I’m currently so bloated that I look pregnant and am too uncomfortable to remain asleep. I have no idea what set it off. I haven’t eaten any of my known triggers, but it seems my digestive system has up and quit on me again. I’m back to wearing loose flowing dresses because nothing else fits me. Even my stretchiest underwear cuts into me. It’s hard to think and move normally when I’m this distended. I think my general unease these past days has been caused by a burgeoning IBS flareup which was itself triggered by an excruciating attack of proctalgia fugax several nights ago. I once again look pregnant because of severe bloat. I walked ~6km and it did not help. My baggy pants are too tight. Guess I’ll be wearing my muumuu again. Digestive tract issues are so incredibly anti-sexy. I don’t think I’ll be going to the gym tomorrow.
