#Ventoy ist eigentlich die Sache, um #linux Live zu starten. Ich hab da ein gutes Dutzend Distris drauf. Von #clonezille, #systemrescue, #gparted und so paar Desktop Systeme wie #linuxmint #endeavouros oder #mxlinux für verschiedene Zwecke.
Heute bin ich über https://distrosea.com #distrosea gestolpert. Ok, die eigene Hardware kann man nicht testen und das Netzwerk ist auch deaktiviert.
Aber man kann im Browser so einiges ansehen und probieren - ohne das System neu zu starten. 👍 cool! -

@mro @schrotthaufen @Luinwen @digitalcourage #DistroSea ist tatsächlich eine gute Empfehlung, weil es dort mit Haiku und OpenIndiana auch zwei technisch außerordentlich spannende Systeme gibt, die eben *kein* Linux oder BSD sind und für viele trotzdem genau die richtige Wahl sein können.
(Ich empfehle immer auch den Blick über den Tellerrand. Eine Linux-Monokultur in der FLOSS-Blase ist der falsche Weg. -)

Buenas, buenas.
Después de una primera exhaustiva revisión por medio de #DistroSea, he elegido por ahora 4 distros de #Linux que me gustaría probar más directamente, ya sea en modo "live" o de ser posible, por medio de una máquina virtual en Windows.
1.- KDE Neon.
2.- Linux Mint Cinnamon.
3.- Manjaro Plasma.
4.- Solus Plasma.1/2

@andreas @thweyrich um sich (v.a. optisch) ein paar Eindrücke zu verschaffen, gibt es u.a. #DistroSea "Der Service erlaubt es, viele GNU/Linux-Distributionen im Web-Browser auszuprobieren"
Ist allerdings auch ein ziemlicher Overkill (weil es so viele gibt - zum Einstieg z.B. mal Mint, Ubuntu, Zorin anschauen) und ein wesentlicher Vorteil von Linux wird da nicht deutlich: #Linux wird i.d.R. wesentlich schneller als #Windows laufen, da es sehr viel ressourcenschonender programmiert ist. -
@philpetree I have a Lenovo A340 AOI that i'm seriously thinking about doing the same thing with near October 2025. #Linuxmint is definitely a good option, but I would at least tryout #mxlinux from a live USB, or play around with other distros from the #distrosea website. I will be interested to see how your #linux experiment plays out

Ich weise nochmal auf die Seite von #DistroSea hin (https://distrosea.com/), hier kann sehr einfach das Look and Feel diverser Linux-Distributionen getestet werden (ersetzt natürlich keinen Test auf der eigenen Hardware!).

Kann man eigentlich seine Lieblings-Distribution (z.B. Ubuntu Desktop-Version) auf einen gemieteten Vserver installieren?
Ich möchte mich dann am Desktop über eine Domain einfach anmelden können.
