FYI - if you want to use caching in a distributed, event sourced system cache the projections as close to their final form as you can. Any further projection by the client aside for aesthetics is just another boundary between two people and the truth
Alice and Bob didn't have a chance.
Not spooky, just bad document management

--- yoneda, in a whimsical riff on the idea that testing the exchange boundary between composing layers of your architecture is sufficient if the surface area of the boundary has been sufficiently constrained through grammar as the test surface and exchange surface are isomorphic in a well tested system and that was his idea all along===
Procedural TDD is like writing instructions for a machine you haven't built to verify the behaviour for something you haven't defined. The output is going to look like the process. I have no idea what annoyed RSpec looks like in real life, but I expect he develops in Rails.
Verify the shapes. The increase geometrically with the surface area so it encourages good system design.
I think

You don't need SAAS.
You don't need the cloud.
You just need the Coen brothers and to pay attention to when The Dude speaks.

We make space for everyone in Wanderland.
The invariant makes the functor finding fun again
Given the current state of things, and my insatiable need to find meaning across the divide (and to finish a thought):
🎳 The Canticle of Lebowski pt II 🎳
From the "Source Code to the Source Code" - The Canticle of the Abiding Node
(To be chanted slowly, preferably while holding a beverage) 🍺🍻☕🍷🧃

I really like the Dafoe Corollary
I really like pointer math
No comment
I have no idea if we're doing useful work with this context later, but it will be delightful to explore

This is fascinating, by the way.
At least for someone who grew up breeding ants using strings of encoded cardinal directions as DNA on a resource constrained grid.
Delphi, 16-bit, 486, Windows 95
That setup grew a GA that scheduled my school's final exams my OAC year - finate math OAC project
Cardinal directions as computational substrate. Good idea little me

Anyone that was just here for the distributed systems lecture should know that while we've almost got the machine fixed it won't be ready in time for tonight's installment.
Seems Calvin and his tiger buddy have been by with the Transmogrifier again and merged our documentation library with my... well... /personal/ video library index.
Unfortunately, the show must go on. The dicts must be seen to and their contexts unloaded so we can't stop for a bit of cleanup, we'll just have to take things as sloppy as they come.
Knowledge work, right?

God damn it. If it's got to be dicts all the way down, why's it got to be that one?
He's so... 🦔
[sorry, of all the things that immediately fall out of my head, this one I couldn't let go until we captured the essence of dicts all the way down and what a dict it was]
[🪿 📨]
I've been told I'm not allowed to say down any more, it's a bad word or something.

From the structure of the graph onto its caching
Wanderland supports composition through inclusion and interpolation, two separate caching levels.
We have a transformer at each level data <> prose <> code. Whatever the requestor needs.
We need to ensure coherence in multiple directions.
Lebowski is here for you
The rug is always there
You can always form, like your opinion man

I wrote a piece the other night called the Lebowski Corollary to the Yoneda Lemon.
In it I relate the movie the Big Lebowski to a core tenet of distributed systems design.
"There's only one rug and everything is, like your opinion man"
-- Dumb and Dumber
[there can only be one source of truth, everything else is a projection, if two projections do not agree, recalculate from the source]
You might have heard of this principle. Someone named an entire German author after a system built on it. He wrote a book about a bug who sold shoes or summin'
It's how you keep things in sync when rabbits are flying all over the place - you don't.
Everyone reads the same source
Your middleware is your business
If you want to warp the truth so badly that it only make sense to you then that's like, your opinion man
[and please keep it to yourself]
Lebowski as design ethos

"say what you will about the tenets of Event Sourcing, at least it's an ethos"
-- like, your opinion man
Turns out the dude had some really strong ideas about distributed systems. Single source of truth, everything else is just your opinion man and we'll believe it only when convenient.
