This seems to be a direct result of a lack of effective #RoadSafety #enforcement in #USA (against #DistractedDriving ) and effects of #apps and increased pace of life - pop music has been around as long as folk have had access to #cars and in car entertainment was widespread in 20th century, but the methods used to access it weren't instant and caused less distraction (the driver would need to obtain and prepare their cassette tape or CD beforehand!)

@arstechnica As long as those computers continue to interact with me via switches, knobs and buttons, that's OK. What's not OK is swapping in a giant touch screen to replace all those controls for which we develop muscle memory and can soon use without distraction from, erm, driving.

It's amazing how many people pick their nose in their car.
Do they pick their nose regularly throughout the day, totally oblivious to who might see them, or are they exhibitionists waiting until they're protected in a glass walled cabin surrounded by a steady, varying flow of onlookers?
