#GrandStrategy is the closest thing to a time machine I have ever found. Games like #EuropaUniversalis, #CrusaderKings or #Victoria give me an entire world and ask: what if? What if a small dynasty conquered Europe? What if one single decision changed the course of history entirely?
You rewrite the timeline, pull on one thread, and watch everything unravel differently. Every campaign is a new alternate universe worth exploring.
And then there are titles like #DistantWorlds or #Stellaris, where the same depth applies but the sandbox is an entire galaxy. Civilisations rising, collapsing, first contact scenarios, technology trees that reshape everything.
No other genre makes consequences feel this real.

Nachdem ich erfahren habe, dass die 3. Neuauflage der "Distant World" Expedition für nächstes Jahr in Vorbereitung ist, habe ich mich auf Grund nostalgischer Erinnerungen sofort angemeldet. 🥰
Ich bin gespannt, wohin die Reise diesmal hingeht und ob es wieder ein Teilnehmer-Rekord geben wird. ✨💫

After that, I also did a #Megaman 2 run to relax, and that attracted more of an audience, which is fun. One guy came up to me and we chatted about it. Turns out he was scoping out Arcade Mtl because he wants to open a similar business in Boston, where he's from.
He was also wearing a #DistantWorlds shirt, so we talked a bit about Uematsu's music.
