Les gens qui self-hostent des alternatives à discord, vous utilisez quoi ? J'envisage TS6, mais je sais pas à quel point la version server en bêta est difficile à deployer. J'ai aussi entendu parler de Matrix + Element, de Stoat. Il y en as d'autres ? C'est quoi vos préférés ?

Stoat vs Fluxer - which is actually winning in terms of gaining the most ex-Discord users? Anyone know?
I assume Stoat is winning based on the numbers I've seen, but I'm confused because in my feeds all I see anyone talking about is Fluxer. Trouble is I can't find any numbers for Fluxer other than the member counts on fluxerservers - which are all pretty low.

I'm tentatively heading in the direction of choosing #Fluxer as a replacement for #Discord. It's a bit rough and it will be interesting to see how well it can scale. Its a solo project that has a freemium subscription business model, not using your chat to train AI and sell personal info.
The user interface is similar enough to Discord that it shouldn't be that hard to get started. I haven't looked at the bot API yet, but it supposed to be very similar to Discord as well and reading through the privacy policy, there's nothing too offensive that I see. The company/dev is based in Sweden and intends to comply with EU laws.
There aren't a lot of good alternatives, that are usable today and the fact that #Fluxer is open and should be possible to self-host is enough to draw my attention. Now to convince my friends to switch...

Honestly i am hearing a lot about fluxer.app in the last few days beeing the new hot stuff to replace discord. Sometimes also people claim that you can selfhost it. Having been on #Matrix for a long time, right now We're seeing a lot of creatures interested in self-hosing their own homeserves, We have a word of caution.
#Synapse is a demanding piece of software, not only being unusually heavy for a self-hosted chat software in its hardware demands, but it keeps needing to be actively maintained, this year already the homeserver We help out with experienced two new and exciting failure modes that needed to be addressed immediately.
With the main problem being not necessarily that the problems are very hard to deal with (though sometimes they are), but that it demands you to be ready to jump into action on a moment's notice, or else all your users can't actually use your instance and the longer it goes on the more you risk rooms getting permanently desynchronized.
We would advise to just offer help to an already existing homeserver instead, be that financial or maintenance wise, or band together with at least three other creatures who want to do sysadmin stuff for that, if you insist on self-hosting.
