STEREOLAB - Margerine Eclipse
So one of the band's long-standing members, Mary Hansen, died in an accident, plus Gane and Sadier broke up. Yet album's not too morose and melancholic, then, at least than any of their other work.
In fact, they still make room for chipper, #DiscoPunk tunes, which makes sense for a mid' #00s record. I did notice the production felt a little askew, but apparently that was intentional, two masters recorded into opposite stereo channels. Always something different.

Slim was dead, but that don't mean Norman doesn't still have a musical itch to scratch. Thus after a half-decade of enjoying his past successes, he got back in the studio with a whole pile of artists across the #IndieRock spectrum. And making sure folks weren't disappointed *this* time out, here's a different project name too!
This leans heavier into #DiscoPunk and #Soul than anything #Dance orientated. Lots of great songs for mobile device ads.

Youth AND Paul are back! ...because Raven passed away. Aw, why's it take a death for reconciliation to happen?
Youth claimed this was the best album he'd worked on, "EVER". Wow, better than 'The Dream' with The Orb?
Yeah, there's a lot to like about this record. Plenty of diversity (#DiscoPunk! #BoogieRock! #Dub! #Metal Sludge!), all while maintaining an aggro K.J. vibe. Doesn't sound like a full-on reunion of old, but eh, they'd grown as songwriters since.
