  1. 🛑📵 Breaking News! Dom Corriveau, the world's most sociable recluse, takes to the internet to shout from the rooftops, "Leave me alone!" 💬 Apparently, Dom missed the part where "disconnecting" means not broadcasting your solitude manifesto to the entire digital universe. 🤦‍♂️

  2. I’m tempted to go on a social media fast during #Lent Actually, I’d love to just turn off my phone completely. It’s not the same as climbing up to a mountain top, however, I feel like it would accomplish many of the same things: namely silence and being cut off/separated from what’s going on in the world and society. It’s not just social media that distracts me from God. It’s also the constant influx of information and stimuli. Stepping away from that and into God’s presence would be good for me. The idea also scares me. Not because of I will almost certainly fail (I suck at keeping boundaries), but rather because of how far that implies I have wandered from God. Perhaps that is the best reason to attempt it. #disconnecting #offline #offgrid #analog

  3. If you feel the need to disconnect for a while, I can highly recommend the game Stranded Deep, especially in Creative mode, a simple game, stranded on a desert island. Ocean, whales, sailing, beautiful underwater environment, exploring, crafting, building,.. with easy survival elements. I find it very soothing 👍

  4. Counting down the days until we head up to a cottage near #Ottawa where we will have no internet and no phone for a week. If you've never tried #Disconnecting, I HIGHLY recommend it.

I used to live in Ottawa and have many fond memories of my time there. It's been more than a decade since I've spent any meaningful time there, and every visit is a bit bittersweet. My favourite old pubs are all gone! Time to find some new favourites. 🤔
