How to spot a landslide before it happens - disaster expert

KEY POINTS:

Landslides can occur on most NZ slopes.

Be alert to:
- falling rocks
- small slips as they may precede a bigger slip
- any cracks or bulges in the ground
- doors/windows suddenly being harder to use because their frames have shifted.
