  2. #WhatImPlaying

Not much to be honest. I've been a busy bee over the last few days.

That said, I've found a little time to play some more #ForzaHorizon6 and I finished #Directive8020 last week. I also picked up a copy of #007FirstLight which I'm *hoping* to start tonight.

  4. CW: Directive 8020 - Light Spoiler - No Names.

    Finished #Directive8020

Ended up enjoying the final half a lot more than the first. It comes together real well,. although I still really don't like the stealth sequences.

I've got one nit to pick however. I had two deaths occur towards the end that I genuinely don't think I could have prevented. These games thrive on player choice and in these two instances, I don't believe I was given the information to make the informed decision; it was sheer luck.

One of them I realised immediately and rewound (something I wouldn't normally do, but it felt cheap and as if it wasn't my fault). The other doesn't show itself until a good hour after you've made that choice, which isn't a problem in itself as much as you're given a little nugget of information that you can't act upon until *after* you've entered a space you can't back out of; I knew I was making the wrong choice but had no way of making any other.

Those issues aside it's another solidly enjoyable narrative focused game from the good folks at Supermassive Games.

  6. Saturday morning #WhatImPlaying update.

#ForzaHorizon6. Really enjoying my time with it, although I can't shake the feeling that the magic of these games is wearing a little thin. An awful lot of the new features just don't appeal, and I find some of the newer race types to be a little underwhelming.

That said, it's still the best arcade racer on the planet, and when it isn't crashing my entire system it's the ultimate 'chill-out' game.

#Directive8020. Kinda underwhelming so far. I'm not really vibing with any of the characters, the setting feels a bit by the numbers science fiction and the stealth sections are... frustrating at best.

I'll see it through of course. I typically only do one play through of these games; time is limited and I value having 'my story' more than I do seeing everything.

Ultimately though, I wish we could go back to the more Earthy settings from the teams previous games.

  8. I've got to be honest, I'm finding #Directive8020 insistence on using forced stealth sequences to increase tension to be a disappointing inclusion in the series.

  19. Supermassive Games delivers its strongest Dark Pictures entry yet with excellent performances, tense stealth mechanics, stunning visuals, and a genuinely gripping sci-fi horror narrative inspired by classics like The Thing.
