Trump is actually indirectly good for Europe, because his erratic policies are driving American research, skilled workers and contracts to Europe. And in the distant future, the euro will replace the dollar as the reserve currency.

The EU is economically stronger than the USA, and the USA's strength is based only on debt, particularly owed to the EU and China. But Trump doesn't recognize this and believes the EU is weak and dependent on the USA, when in fact it's exactly the opposite. The EU should act much more assertively than the USA, like China and Italy do, rather than the other way around.

Trump is less a politician and more a frail old man / an internet phenomenon who only understands the political business as a show. He will die within the next two years. He built his fortune only through fraud, and he will ruin the USA as well.

The agreement between Trump and the IRS was absolutely predictable and is laid out exactly that way in his book: the basic principle is simply that he enters a negotiation with a vastly inflated demand, and when he then has to make concessions, he ends up achieving precisely what he wanted all along. That is the simple underlying principle of The Art of the Deal.
