Diósgyőr, 1969. The large sign with the arrow indicates the “bottle return” place where you get your deposit back from empty beer and soft drink bottles. They are usually attached to supermarkets such as this one in Diósgyőrgyőr in eastern Hungary. Note the man begging at the bottom left of the photo. That would have been an unusual sight in the socialist era.
