  3. A new image from last week's #NASA #LucyMission encounter with the asteroid #Dinkinesh just dropped.

Turns out that the second (previously undiscovered) asteroid in the system is itself a contact binary.

  4. So, they went out into space to look at an asteroid close up, and when they got there, they discovered the asteroid with a name, has a "moon" with no name right on it

And no ones said it yet, but when its named it should reference The Little Prince or its author Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.

I mean look at this. The Little Prince "moon" doesnt just look like him, it seems to portray his whimsy.

  6. Hello #Dinky!

NASA's #Lucy spacecraft made a flyby of a small #asteroid Wednesday. The spacecraft successfully passed by the asteroid #Dinkinesh, an asteroid about one kilometer across in the main asteroid belt. #NASA said in a statement that the spacecraft was in good health, although the spacecraft had yet to return images and other data collected during the flyby. That flyby was primarily a test of spacecraft systems ahead of future flybys of Trojan asteroids.
