I could do without "Shopping Bags" and the Flavor Flav cut, but most of the album ranges from good to very good, with a number of great tracks along the way. Has aged well.

I'm not the first person to notice a connection between #KateBush and #ErykahBadu. They seem part an ancient lineage--you can hear it in a track like Badu's The Healer, produced by #Madlib with a shoutout to #Dilla.

the j dilla documentary, created by his family and titled "the legacy of j dilla", debuted on hulu/fx this past weekend.
did anyone watch it? thoughts?
me thinks it's a solid primer, particularly for those new to him, but it's a bit lacking for the "heads". lots of stuff missing. barely even mentioned slum village. still worth a watch!
that said, i know questlove from the roots is working on a dilla documentary and my guts says it will be the real winner.
